Ichijo USA has been Awarded Green Home Builder of the Year 2025 by Builder’s Media and is featured in the December issue of the Green Home Builder Magazine. In this issue, the President of Ichijo USA, Tetsuya Asano, describes the philosophy and goals of the company. “Our experience with technology and focus on craftsmanship creates sustainable homes that are energy efficient and artfully constructed. One at a time, It’s not just the next thing, it’s the right thing.”
Ichijo USA is following in the footsteps of Ichijo Japan, bringing high quality Japanese craftsmanship to the U.S. with energy efficiency technology being a priority. This has paid off since Ichijo USA has been awarded Most Earth Advantage® Platinum Homes for four years in a row! Earth Advantage is a third-party, high-performance certification program for new single-family homes developed to assure homeowners that a certified home is energy efficient, healthy, and resource wise. This is available for Ichijo homes in the Portland area.
The new community, Miyabi at Frog Pond in Wilsonville, OR is highlighted in the magazine and includes not only the quality Japanese construction but the unique Ichijo built products and energy efficiency. Rigorous inspections called IJQ inspections or Ichijo Japan Quality are performed at all stages of construction from foundation to framing to insulation and beyond. Once the home is complete, the new homeowner receives a report detailing each inspection phase with photos. This is the first difference you see in the Ichijo USA home buying process.
Secondly, Ichijo provides unique products that are produced in its facility in the Philippines including but not limited to high quality piano finish cabinetry with extras like pull down shelving, spice racks, knife racks, dividers and more as well as interior doors with magnetic door stops, cool metal inlay, 12-degree short stroke handles and pivot hinges. There will also be more products to come to the U.S. market in the future, but energy efficiency is always something the is dependable in every Ichijo home.

At Miyabi at Frog Pond, the energy efficiency starts with two layers of insulation including two inches of spray foam and three and a half inches of fiberglass insulation enhancing the comfort and performance of the home. Exceeding the code requirements, the R-Value of the wall is 29, the floor R-Value is 38 and the U Value of the windows for the community averages .25! Add the ACH or Air Changes per Hour at 2.0 and the homes achieve an exceptional air tightness and improved indoor air quality.
You can visit one of Ichijo USA’s sites in the Pacific Northwest in Washington State or Oregon to learn more about the homes and get a personal tour from one of the Sales Representatives.
